About TOChina

TOChina is a working unit of the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Torino. It is operational since May 2007 and it is based next to the office of the Dean in Vicolo Benevello 3/A, Torino IT (see map).

In 2010, given the success of the TOChina initiatives, the School launched a new comprehensive TOAsia project, of which TOChina is now part. New programs on contemporary India and the Middle East have been opened and can be explored through the dedicated sections of this website.

TOChina has been set up with the aim of invigorating and streamlining the School’s approach to China, both in its academic and institutional activities. Over the last five years of activity, therefore, TOChina has

  • launched  five editions of its prestigious Summer School on the politics, economics and foreign policy of contemporary China;
  • overseen China-related academic courses in the Global Studies program of the School’s Degree in Scienze Internazionali;
  • supervised a number of networking and research missions by faculty members in China;
  • promoted the adoption of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Faculty and the School of Media and Cross-Cultural Communication of Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, PRC).

The TOChina team is composed of the following staff:

Prof. Fabio Armao Dean of the School
Dr. Giovanni Andornino TOChina coordinator
Prof. Michelangelo Conoscenti
Dr. Giuseppe Gabusi
Prof. Franco Garelli
Prof. Umberto Morelli
