The Global Studies post-graduate degree programme is the latest, innovative addition among the programmes offered at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Torino.
In recent years the Faculty has developed a strategic posture that places great emphasis on the study of emerging global actors such as China and India. The Global Studies programme is the outcome of a two-year period of assessment and planning.
The Faculty’s objective is to approach China and, increasingly, India and the Middle East from a very specific perspective: the study of their domestic politics, international relations approaches and political economy.
Our aim is to enhance our students awareness of both opportunities and challenges stemming from the rise of these actors in the Middle and Far East.
Students applying to the Global Studies degree programme should know that we aim to train them so that they may turn into professionals capable of blending cultural sensitivity with an understanding of the political and economic theoretical categories needed to unpack the complexity of China, India and the Middle East.
Global Studies is formally a sub-programme within the Degree (Laurea magistrale) in Scienze Internazionali. The Head of Scienze Internazionali is prof. Umberto Morelli and information may be found at www.scienzeinternazionali.it.
